This is № 500 of Pilentum's model railroad videos. At the great model railway exhibition named On TraXS 2022 in the Netherlands, Samuel de Zutter and Valentijn van der Haegen presented their detailed On30 model train diorama that takes the viewer to Cuba. You have to look twice or three times closely to discover the many small details on the model railway layout. Of course, it should not go unmentioned that Samuel and Valentijn are true experts in scratch building, i.e. they do not use prefabricated parts or kits. They are experts of building scale models from scratch, i.e. from raw materials, rather than building it from a commercial kit, kitbashing or buying it pre-assembled. Therefore, the small their O scale diorama, which has been given the name “Cubana”, is a testimony to a lot of tinkering and creativity.

Rail transport modeling in Germany is closely associated with those steam locomotives and diesel locos of the former state railroad (German Federal Railway) from the 1960's. Therefore, there are many model railroading enthusiasts who recreate that romantic era. The rail diorama we see in this video follows this railway modelling philosophy and depicts a small station in Germany where a lot of freight traffic is handled.
This is № 487 of Pilentum's model railroad videos. In this video, we focus on British railway modelling and we discover “Weston Interchange”, a 00 gauge modern image model railway layout. Track work is all code 75 by Peco. Pointwork is operated by MP5 slow action point motors. Also featuring working colour light signals. On the layout, there are a Bachmann class 158 GWR, a Bachmann class 153 FGW, a Dapol class 68 and a RealTrack class 143 in ATW. All locomotives and trains are sound fitted.
This is № 485 of Pilentum's model railroad videos. Jürgen Preis used various kits from the manufacturers Auhagen, Faller, Kibri, etc. to build bridges, industrial plants, railway buildings and houses. He learned to weather buildings, vehicles and locomotives. Each kit was aged, patinated and weathered with additional paints, giving the model railway an even more realistic appearance. The model rail layout was built in less than three years.
