His beautiful model train layout is called “Neupreussen Main Station” and measures about 2.60 x 1.95 meters. Because “Neupreussen Main Station” is supposed to be located in the border area between Germany and Austria, we see model locomotives and model trains of different railway companies. These model trains are made by the manufacturers Piko and Roco.

In Budapest, the capital of Hungary, there is a small model railway shop that has built a pretty nice model rail layout in HO scale for the presentation of new model trains and scale models. But very often the model railroad layout is used for playing with steam locomotives and enjoying railway operating sessions.

Marcin Turko and the Polish model railroading group “Polska Makieta Modułowa H0” have built an extremely realistic reproduction of the railway traffic of the Polish State Railways (PKP). The HO scale layout represents the time of the 1960’s and 1970’s, when steam locomotives and rail buses of the “Polskie Koleje Państwowe” (Polish State Railways) were still in use.

Therefore, Rob de Vleeschhouwer and Wim Wijnhoud have modelled the railway infrastructure between the Swiss and German border. The model railway layout is called “Court du Bouton” and depicts the rail traffic of trains used by the German state railroads (DB) and the Swiss state railways (SBB).

The absolutely amazing model railroad layout “Le Bassin”, created by model builders Wieger Pasman and Floris Dilz in HO scale, depicts the Liège steel industry in Belgium. In the 1980’s the steel industry was to change completely because many parts of the steelworks were shut down. A mystical atmosphere emerged and the steelworks seemed like a patchwork of active and abandoned industrial buildings. This atmosphere fascinated model railway enthusiasts Wieger Pasman and Floris Dilz so much that they decided to build a model rail layout illustrating the industrial buildings in the inner cities of Seraing and Ougrée.
