The history of railways, steam engines and electric locomotives in Switzerland offer endless possibilities for rail transport modelling. Therefore model railroading or railway modelling is a popular hobby in Switzerland. Of course, there are also magnificent model train exhibitions. Probably one of the most precise model railway layouts in the world is located in the Kaeserberg rail museum in Switzerland.

Inside this Swiss miniature world, there are two kilometres of tracks in HO scale (1/87 scale) on three levels and more than 120 model train sets.
