The OO gauge layout named “South Hams Model Railway” is an example of small model railways that impresses with its highly precise landscape modelling. The emphasis of the layout is on the beautiful South Hams countryside with Dartmoor in the background. Many of the stone bridges, barns and stone walls have been built with individual stones for enhanced realism. The stations are scratch built using card and balsa wood.
Unfortunately, the railway modeller has only a limited number of locomotives. Therefore, we mainly see a goods train (freight train) pulled by an LNER steam locomotive. At the end of the video, the famous train set of the “Flying Scotsman” appears. South Hams Model Railway is a series of OO gauge layouts. The first layout is loft based in a 224 cm x 160 cm space. Several smaller diorama layouts have been created since then, the latest being a 200 cm x 61 cm end-to-end project.
