Realistic subway stations, also known as rapid transit trains, metro, tube, underground or metropolitan, are a rarity in model railroading. One difficulty is definitely the rolling stock, because almost every city has its own metro cars. Which manufacturer therefore wants to take on the challenge of building underground model trains designed like the New York City Subway, the Madrid Metro, the São Paulo Metro, the Shanghai Metro, the Sydney Metro, the London Underground Metropolitan Railway, the Beijing Subway, the Delhi Metro or the famous Moscow Metro.
In Germany, there are underground stations that are not only served by underground trains, but also by regional trains, local trains and commuter trains. Cristóbal Miranda has built such a station as a diorama in HO scale. The underground station is part of his beautiful model railway layout, called “Neupreussen HBF” and has already been presented on Pilentum Television. The underground station at the main station in the city of Stuttgart, Germany, and the station at the airport in Dresden, Germany, served as models for this model railway station.
