Olaf Brabandt is a German model railroader who builds run-down, abandoned and dirty industrial sites, for example steelworks, coal plants, refineries and chemical plants. In the last seven years, he built a model railroad layout in HO scale representing a part of the typical large-scale industry of the former GDR. It is an industrial yard built with a high level of detail: Patina, dirt, dust and grime are everywhere. Buildings, locomotives and freight cars are also carefully weathered.
This is № 553 of Pilentum's model railroad videos. Although this model railway layout is only 60 cm x 30 cm in size, we discover an incredible amount of detail. This is the special feature of model railroader Wieger Pasman, who demonstrates that less can be more with his understated atmospheric model train city edge diorama. He was inspired by the desolate atmosphere of the Parisian district of La Plaine Saint Denis and built a diorama in HO scale with an industrial yard crossed on one side by a main line railway.
This is № 552 of Pilentum's model railroad videos. After four years of work, the new section of Patagonia in Miniatur Wunderland was opened. The 65-square-meter section wants to depict many typical attractions of Patagonia in 1/87 scale, for example, the Perito Moreno Glacier, where every few minutes blocks of ice crash into the water. There are not only the modern trains operated by the state-owned railway company called “Tren Patagónico”, but also the old steam trains running on narrow-gauge tracks and widely known as “La Trochita”.

The new layout features beautiful hand-made landscapes and buildings of Switzerland.

The two model railway enthusiast Jens Petermann and Jochen Klinger wanted to show the special feature of the different gauge of the Pressnitz Valley Railway on their model railway layout. Therefore, they rebuilt the station of the community of Steinbach on two 1.25 x 0.6 meter railway modules in order to depict the historical railroad operations.
