Although we unfortunately live in a crazy and not peaceful world, military modelling is a category in rail transport modelling that arouses very strong interest. Usually, model tank dioramas reflecting the Second World War are presented at exhibitions. Apart from these WW2 dioramas, there are also model railway enthusiasts who build barracks, manoeuvres and military transports on their model rail layouts.
In this video, we discover the military section of a German model railroad club. The members, mostly soldiers and veterans of the German Armed Forces, have modelled their former barracks and the loading station for tanks and other military equipment in HO scale (1/87). Typical for many German model railroaders, we recognise that ugly tracks from Märklin were installed on the model railway layout. You can recognise these tracks by the third power rail, which is placed in the middle of the track.
