Olaf Brabandt is a German model railroader who builds run-down, abandoned and dirty industrial sites, for example steelworks, coal plants, refineries and chemical plants. In the last seven years, he built a model railroad layout in HO scale representing a part of the typical large-scale industry of the former GDR. It is an industrial yard built with a high level of detail: Patina, dirt, dust and grime are everywhere. Buildings, locomotives and freight cars are also carefully weathered.

Therefore, Rob de Vleeschhouwer and Wim Wijnhoud have modelled the railway infrastructure between the Swiss and German border. The model railway layout is called “Court du Bouton” and depicts the rail traffic of trains used by the German state railroads (DB) and the Swiss state railways (SBB).

Model builders Yannick De Vynck and Dirk Colman presented a historically accurate replica of the Belgian railway line 12 at Heide station in the Belgian municipality of Kalmthout in the province of Antwerp. The model railway layout in HO scale was designed to represent the beginning of the 20th century, when steam locomotives and steam trains still were in service.

Trains and locomotives of the Deutsche Bahn AG, the national railway company of Germany, can also be found in Chile, namely on the wonderful HO scale model rail layout of Cristóbal Miranda, which has been named “Neupreussen Hbf” (New Prussia Main Station). In this video, Pilentum Television and Cristóbal have focused less on the overall presentation of the H0 gauge layout but more on rail traffic and on typical shunting operations that are common on the busy railway lines in New Prussia’s miniature world.

Track work is all code 75 by Peco. Pointwork is operated by MP5 slow action point motors. Also featuring working colour light signals. On the layout, there are a Bachmann class 158 GWR, a Bachmann class 153 FGW, a Dapol class 68 and a RealTrack class 143 in ATW. All locomotives and trains are sound fitted.
