Dr. Michael Giersberg is one of those railway modellers or model railroaders who specialized in the reproduction of narrow gauge field railways in East Germany. His model train diorama constructed in HOn30 scale depicts a small village with a quarry in the 1960s.

At the National Railway Museum in the Netherlands in March 2023 Kim Marsh presented his latest and very Queensland based model train diorama that is called “Sandy Hollow”. With fascinating attention to detail, the master craftsman combined a variety of materials and utilised complex techniques to design and shape this micro model.
