This very large model railroad exhibit in HO scale presents the German history of railways from the beginning of the 20th century to modern times. Four various model train layouts on more than 1,000 square meters present the several periods of time. There are more than 200 model trains in action. In the beginning of railroad history, there were steam locomotives. Later, these steam locos were replaced by diesel locomotives.
Today, electric locomotives and high-speed trains, for example the famous ICE in Germany or TGV in France or Frecciarossa in Italy, are in use. At this model railway show, each period is represented with its inherent locomotives and trains. Although these four model railroad layouts are very big, the trains are not digitally controlled. There is no DCC in use. There is an analog control technology in use, namely the model train control system made by the Gebhardt company from Germany.
Furthermore, it must be mentioned, that all the locomotives and trains are running in a very smoothly way. They were converted and optimized with special model train motors made by the Faulhaber company from Germany. In addition, the trains have the correct length in relation to the 1/87 scale.
