Once again we learn that railway modelling is an international matter, especially when German railway modellers build a Canadian model railway layout. Furthermore, the special feature of this model railway layout is the rare scale, namely TT gauge. The German railway enthusiasts Helmut Müller (father) and Michael Gruner (son) have created a beautiful model railway layout of Canada. Their layout in TT gauge focuses on the transcontinental railway traffic between Canada and the USA.
The model railway layout depicts the landscape around the “Connaught Tunnel” of the Canadian Pacific Railway. The stone galleries and wooden bridges, better known as trestle bridges, which are common for railway lines in the Rocky Mountains, were reproduced in great detail. For landscaping small stones and many natural materials from Woodland Scenics were used. The TT layout includes a saw mill, a large steel bridge, a port with ships and an industrial area. There are also locomotives, freight trains and passenger trains, which are wonderfully aged and weathered.
